Orlando, FL— April 26, 2019 Award-winning local author, Kim M. Clark, joins forces with Capstone Legacy Foundation of Wayne, PA to create a nation-wide 501(c)3 non-profit to provide hope to the incarcerated.

FACTS:

  • 2.3 million people are incarcerated in our country.
  • 2.8 children have a parent in the prison system.
  • 700,000 inmates are released into our society annually—2/3 of them get rearrested.

“Those statistics are staggering. We are creating an epidemic, a dangerous cycle of violence and crime in our country. Isn’t it time to provide hope?” asks CEO/Founder of Lift Your Gaze, Kim M. Clark.

The three components needed for rehabilitation are: education, training, and recovery programs. Most experts and studies agree that faith-based programs offer the strongest evidence for a heart change, thereby demonstrating the greatest decrease in recidivism rates and violence in the prison system. Lift Your Gaze through using Deep Waters: Lift Your Gaze book studies and teachings allow for the genesis of trust where the hopeless can find hope even in prison.

Positive Impact

Kim M. Clark has written her award-winning book, Deep Waters: Lift Your Gaze, to help those who are facing affliction lift their gaze to God–as Kim’s book states, “Whatever we focus on gets bigger.” She has spoken at conferences across the U.S. and leads a nation-wide book study webinar. “This book is not just about hope; it is also about healing,” stated one on-line participant on the book’s benefits. “It is one of the best books I have ever read in my life.” Declared another avid reader.

Recently, the non-profit, Lift Your Gaze, has received funding to provide books to hundreds of chaplains and ministry workers across the nation at the Correctional Ministries and Chaplains Association (CMCA) Summit in May at the Billy Graham Center in Wheaton, IL
